Naomh Séamas Encourage Youth To Have Their Say

The Committee of St James GAC in recognition of our growing and active youth membership and their commitment to developing, promoting and supporting the club has unanimously agreed to support the establishment of a Coiste na n-Óg (Youth Committee).

Recognising the youth of our club will have their own ideas on what is best for them and us, we will be calling a special meeting for club members between the ages of 12 & 18 to discuss this.

At this meeting a Committee representative will facilitate the selection of Youth Representatives to sit on a panel that will, amongst other things:

Meet with other youth members and present their views

Have representation on the Management Committee

Build partnerships with other youth and GAA clubs in Ireland

Organise club events

Organise fundraising events

Learn how the club works and become part of it

Be trained in the workings of the club by senior Committee members

The Youth Committee, once selected, will be able to raise and prioritise other issues.
