Aldergrove secured their first Ulster league points with a tight home victory over Tyrons side Newtownstewart. The visitors started strongly and took the lead through a 3rd minute point from play. Aldergrove then added 3 points from B McQuillan, C Browning and J Henry (free, before Newtownstewart added one from play. James Henry (free) and Brian McQuillan pointed again before two Newtonstewart points from frees tied the game. Fergal Burke added a further two points to give the home side a 0.7 to 0.5 lead at the break.

Newtownstewart started the second half very strongly and added four scores without reply whilst Chris McVeigh shot narrowly wide while through on goals for Aldergrove. Micky Scannell scored Aldergrove's first point of the second half on the 48th minute but Newtownstewart restored their two point lead two minutes later with what proved to be their final score of the match. Fergal Burke added a further two points to level the game and Brian McQuillan sent the ball over twice in the closing minutes to secure the Aldergrove Victory.
