Don''t see why you Glenavy boys aren't writing your actual names?lol Have a bit of bottle if you want to be offensive. When the rest of them Gallaghers quit, which they will you''ll be right back down to 3 boys, unless you can try poach some crumlin boys again. OH and by the way, Ballymacricket must have went downhill big time, you scallions are definitely dyslexic

I just read the letter from the parish building committee. They really do have a nerve. Who do they think they are?. They talk about us having use of the pitch and ground free of charge. I would like our committee to remind these people that WE are the parish the ground belongs to us, NOT the priest or the building committee. The ground belongs to the people of the parish and we do not have to pay any sort of rent to ourselves. They say they will pay us 100,000 to go. What will that get us? You will be lucky to get a field 4 miles from the town for that sort of money. We provide for the community and deserve to be in the middle of the town. If they have their way there will be no green space left in the town. Rather than sign a letter supporting the building of a new chapel on our pitch put an objection into the planners.
Admin Reply - The club will meet to discuss the public communication from the Parish. We have been actively seeking a face to face meeting with the Priest but have been continually thwarted in out attempts.

Was at the game V Aghagallon tonight and came away with mixed feelings. Of course disappointment that we now have lost to Rossa, to Sarsfields to Ballymena and now to Aghagallon by 1 or 2 points but this was our best performance of the four and probably our best since the Glenavy game. Was happy with our work rate & our desire our overall play (must have had 65% of the possession?) but silly mistakes ultimately cost us what should have been a sweet & deserved victory. How many times did we kick for points landing the ball short or in the keepers hands – the cardinal sin of Gaelic Football? In games at this level we still appear a bit naive. We need to read the referee a bit better – tonight’s official was obviously from the ‘no contact’ school but still be conceded too many scorable frees (although he was inconsistent on a number of occasions with our players being pulled by the arms causing us to lose the ball and he didn’t see this as a foul). Shape and balance of the team was much better than the last few games. Massively disappointed for MJ who was really starting to become a dominant figure in around the middle third. Glad to see our full back line attacking the ball rather than the inept display against Sarsfields when we let them take possession and then tried to disposes them (and that was madness). One niggling thing – when FB isn’t at his best we seem to struggle with none of the other forwards capable of stepping up to get the scores/make the play to outscore the opposition. Come on you guys – raise your game and win it - don’t wait for someone else to do it for you!

Most kids actually pay in the same way that you do, so it is incorrect to assume that others are not paying subs . The club have never made a penny out of gear - it is all sold at cost price (despite the hugely time consuming and thankless effort involved in collating and distributing the orders and dealing with suppliers). Gear in the past has indeed been subsidised, as indeed have been numerous trips, activities, specialised coaching and end of season parties etc. Those paying by DD are an enormous help to the club (which is entirely reliant on the tireless fundraising of too few people). Every single person involved in coaching or admin at our club gives up their time freely - such is the ethos of the GAA. Whilst the club try to give as much back as it can - sometimes the harsh economics restricts this and often the real return is not monetary but is in the form of coaching and organised games for our members of all ages and backgrounds. The club greatly appreciate all that our members contribute to their club. If you would like to discuss this issue then members should feel free to address it in the correct forum ie directly with committee.

My child came home from underage training recently with an order form for gear. I''m on a standing order arrangement and when it was sold to me I was told there was discount on gear sales. Is this still the case and if so what is the discount? If not then why pay the standing order when most of the other children don''t even seem to pay weekly subs??
